Dimensions of the pot are 190 mm diameter × 190 mm high. The plant is about 400 mm high.
Plant Description:
Peruvian groundcherry/Cape gooseberry is an annual shrub in temperate zones and perennial in tropical zones. Mine began as annuals and have acclimatised so much that they are almost if not fully perennial, in that they never seem to die down fully.
A bushy, somewhat untidy sprawling herbaceous bush about 1.5 m wide and high, and quite prolific. The fruits are sweet with a touch of tartness.
The fruits grow in little capsules that turn yellow brown when ripe. Open the capsule up to reveal a deep golden yellow fruit inside — kids young and old will love this!
The sweetest fruits are the ones which are already on the ground, or which fall off when the shrub is gently shaken, so check daily to guarantee the freshest ones!
Growing Information:
Peruvian groundcherry is best grown in the ground where it can sprawl. The herbaceous branches grow any which way, but can be trimmed to control protruding growth onto pathways and the like. It is frost-tender.
The groundcherry is in the same family as the tomato, and seeds are easily collected as for those. Alternatively leave fallen ripe berries on the ground where they will very easily self-sow.

Especial Note Regarding Large Air-Pot® Orders
Depending on the order, we may suggest that large Air-Pot® orders are best sent directly to you from the warehouse.
Especial Note Regarding Jujube Trees
When posting out bare-rooted jujube trees, we routinely trim them to fit the box and keep postage costs to a minimum. These trees are typically knee-high when planted out, though some may be smaller.
This of course doesn’t apply for pick-ups, and in fact we will set aside the tallest trees specifically for this purpose. These trees can often be hip-high, and sometimes taller again.
Please note that this is not a guarantee, as heights of different cultivars can differ from year to year.
