Common Names: Dancing Ladies Ginger, Dancing Girls Ginger
Botanical Characteristics: Herbaceous | Perennial | Rhizomatous | Frost tender

Item Description:
This is the exact item in these photos — four dormant rhizomes which can be planted together or separated to make four new plants. This clump actually came from a single rhizome planted in a 3 L Air-Pot ® — all gingers do amazingly well in Air-Pot containers of all sizes. They love the rich organic growing environment, aeration and water-holding capacity these containers provide.
Buds can be seen in some of the photos, which will be the new shoots.
Plant Description:
Globba winitii hails from Thailand and is grown for its showy flowers. This is a more dainty-looking ginger and flower than other members of the ginger family, but is tougher than it looks! It is a tender perennial however.
It is very late to emerge from dormancy compared to other gingers I have here, and the flowers won’t appear until late summer. The wait is worth it, as it will stay in flower until late autumn or even early to mid winter depending on your climate.
Growing Information:
Globba winitii happily grows in a pot or in the ground, and will absolutely thrive in any permanently cool, shady spot.
Like all members of the ginger family, this species prefers a well-draining, always-moist soil rich in organic matter.

Especial Note Regarding Large Air-Pot® Orders
Depending on the order, we may suggest that large Air-Pot® orders are best sent directly to you from the warehouse.
Especial Note Regarding Jujube Trees
When posting out bare-rooted jujube trees, we routinely trim them to fit the box and keep postage costs to a minimum. These trees are typically knee-high when planted out, though some may be smaller.
This of course doesn’t apply for pick-ups, and in fact we will set aside the tallest trees specifically for this purpose. These trees can often be hip-high, and sometimes taller again.
Please note that this is not a guarantee, as heights of different cultivars can differ from year to year.
