Two Jute Bags For Garden Waste (45 cm x 90 cm)

100% biodegradable jute made into a very loose, open-weave 450 mm × 900 mm bag.

I absolutely love these! Just like a garden bag, but instead of lugging those somewhat heavy and unwieldy things somewhere to empty (with difficulty) for reuse, I can easily lift and carry these much lighter alternatives to where they can rot down in place! Like into a compost bin, or a hedge bag I’m filling for later, or into a garden bed in rotation.

You can really pack a lot into these as they expand like crazy due to that weave. And though you may not think so, sticks and other pokey things don’t fall through the holes that easily. Some will, and do, but for the most part they stay in place as can be seen in the photo.

My only criticism is I find the opening can be a bit fiddly to manoeuvre when emptying a standard 9 L bucket of refuse into the bag, but then they probably weren’t designed for that.

Speaking of which, they weren’t really intended with hard-to-break-down materials such as sticks in mind, and will of course biodegrade much more quickly if only containing leaves and/or herbaceous weeds.
