The Wollongong Botanic Garden’s Kawasaki Bridge is being repaired!

Maybe “replaced with a replica” is more accurate, as the traditional Japanese wood it is currently made from sadly just doesn’t hold up to our climate. That wood is being substituted with Australian hardwoods which will.

I am so looking forward to seeing this truly stunning bridge in full splendour again this summer! It has been years’ out of action.

(But was encouraging “influencers” at the end really necessary??? Please don’t.)
